The Trimbos Institute issued a Red Alert after Trump-shaped ecstasy pills containing high concentrations of PMMA were submitted to Dutch drug-testing centres.

The institute warned that PMMA takes longer to act than MDMA, increasing the risk that users take more and suffer an overdose or potentially fatal overheating. No confirmed cases of PMMA in users’ blood were reported, while ecstasy remains illegal but widely used in Dutch clubs and festivals.
