Article summary
This exploratory preprint analysed music responses from a double-blind, placebo-controlled psilocybin crossover trial (0.26 mg/kg). Part 1 (n=19) screened eight compositions; Part 2 (n=17) compared emotional responses to classical and psytrance compositions. Psilocybin increased wonder, transcendence and joyful activation across both compositions, while the compositions evoked distinct emotional profiles. A drug-by-composition interaction was found for sadness. The small samples and exploratory design limit generalisation.
