Article summary

This multimodal brain imaging study (n=18) of healthy volunteers used PET, MRI and EEG to examine how synaptic vesicle density relates to brain structure and plasticity after ketamine (n=11) or DMT (n=7). Synaptic density was linked to neurite architecture and short- and long-term sensory plasticity, but not consistently to general functional connectivity, and did not change significantly after drug exposure.
