Article summary

This secondary analysis of a double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled EEG study (n=25) found that an intranasal DMT and buccal harmine formulation produced faster, shorter-lasting brain activity states than harmine alone or placebo, while increasing their frequency and complexity. The transitions between these states also became more predictable, indicating altered neural dynamics near the peak psychedelic state.
